Raymond James names new head of its Women's Network
Nicole Spinelli brings recruiting experience and a women's studies babckground

Nicole Spinelli has been named the new director of the Raymond James Network for Women Advisors. She succeeds Karen Julien, branch manager of the Raymond James & Associates Carillon office in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Network was created 13 years ago to create support and education among women, and Spinelli has been part of the Network for more than eight years. There are 600 female financial professionals who affiliate with Raymond James, which has more than 5,300 financial advisors in total.
Along with developing strategies for supporting women, the Network also serves as a resource to branch and senior management as the firm strives to attract quality female financial advisors.

“I look forward to improving the resources already in place within the firm, as well as continuing to develop innovative tools to help women advisors grow their practices and reach their full potential,” she said in a release. Spinelli was not available for comment.

The change in leadership will not affect the programs and events sponsored by the Network such as its annual flagship event, the Raymond James Women’s Symposium. Held each fall in St. Petersburg, the symposium is designed as a forum for women to share ideas and expertise with one another, as well as hear from industry leaders and confer with Raymond James’ senior managers.
“The symposium, along with the Network’s other events and programs held throughout the year, is designed to supercharge the success of women financial professionals across the nation,” Spinelli said in a release.
Helped aid an IPO
After moving to Florida from Montana in 1998, Nicole began working for a dot-com company. She helped to take the company public, which sparked her interest in the investment world. In 2001 she joined Raymond James & Associates as a recruiting liaison for the Private Client Group. She attended The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., where she majored in women’s studies. Nicole resides in Seminole, Fla., with her husband, Tony and daughter, Isabella.
Outside the office, Nicole is a passionate about eradicating child abuse. She is a volunteer and member of Angels Against Abuse, a non-profit organization dedicated to that cause.
